The foundation has had a long-standing interest in adolescent mental health. The MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey, which the foundation launched in 2006, collects information on various aspects of mental health, including stress, depressive symptoms, self-injury, and suicidality. As one of the largest student surveys in the nation, data can be analyzed by gender, race, disability status and sexual orientation. This, in turn, allows schools, communities, and the foundation to identify which groups of students are in need of programs and policies that can better support their mental health. Our latest “infographics” highlight data on adolescent stress and mental health.
