January 16, 2024

The MetroWest Health Foundation Board of Trustees announced today that Phillip Gonzalez will join the Foundation as its new President and CEO, effective February 20, 2024.

"The Board of Trustees is thrilled that Phillip will be joining us to lead the Foundation's agenda to improve the health of the communities we serve," said Anna Cross, chair of the Board of Trustees. "In selecting Phillip, we have found a strong leader who shares the Board's commitment to community engagement and collaboration and to advancing health equity," said Bill Graham, immediate past chair of the Board of Trustees and chair of the CEO search committee.

Mr. Gonzalez comes to the Foundation with significant experience in health philanthropy. He is currently the Director of Community Investments at the Point32Health Foundation and previously held roles with the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation and Community Catalyst. He is a graduate of the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston and the University of Vermont.

Mr. Gonzalez will succeed the Foundation's long-time President and Chief Executive Officer, Martin Cohen, who announced his intent to retire last spring.
