Starting in December, select health care workers across the state will be able to apply for loan repayment awards ranging from $12,500 to $300,000. The goal of the historic $130 million program is to support and retain the health care workforce by investing in personnel like social workers, primary care physicians, case managers, and substance use recovery coaches.
Certain applicants will receive priority based on a few factors, including working or living in Framingham. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act and the Opioid Recovery and Remediation Trust Fund, the program is a partnership between the Executive Office of Health and Human Services and the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers. The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers will share information about how to apply in the next few weeks.
