Two Foundation Supported Projects Open to Improve Access to Care & the Training of the Health Care Workforce

February 16, 2024

The region recently saw the opening of two important facilities that support health care - MassBay Community College's Center for Health Sciences, Early Childhood and Human Services in Framingham; and the new and expanded Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center in Milford.

The MassBay Center provides state-of-the-art classroom and experiential training space for nurses, paramedics and other health care professionals, as well as those working in childcare and human service programs. The foundation helped to underwrite the Center's Patient Simulation Lab, where students can practice their skills in realistic settings and with mannequins that can be programed to have a variety of conditions. Read more about the MassBay Center here.

The new Milford site of the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center expands the number of primary care exam rooms available to patients, and add new space for behavioral health visits and dental care. The foundation helped support the design and construction of the new Milford site. Read more about the Center here.
