Angela Castrillo Vilches

Program Officer

Angela is native to the area, having grown up in the Butterworth Park neighborhood in South Framingham and graduated from Framingham High School. 

After graduating from Beloit College with a Political Science degree and a Critical Identities Studies degree, Angela's professional career began in labor advocacy and service providing. Training more than 3,000 workers on workplace health and safety in New York's Capital Region, Angela worked closely with low wage workers to provide resources and educational events during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This led her to continue her advocacy work at the New York Immigration Coalition. There, she was responsible for running and supporting political campaigns geared towards the betterment of immigrants in New York State. This includes her leadership in Coverage4All, a legislative campaign aimed to provide health care for all New Yorkers. Throughout her tenure at the NYIC, Angela also coordinated asylum and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) clinics that provided more than 900 asylum seekers with legal services. 

Angela is an avid Celtics and Red Sox fan and loves to take long walks with her dog, Fenway.
